What role do bacteria play in acne formation?

Source: www.microscopy-uk.org.uk

Culprit 2

The second culprit in acne formation, which we touched on earlier, is bacteria. Most of the over-the-counter product that you may have used from Neutrogena lines to Proactiv Solution aim to reduce this factor.

Bacteria are not particular to just acne sufferers, however. Everyone has bacteria in their skin, regardless of whether they have acne. The most common type of bacteria is called P. Acnes. However, researchers have found evidence for 182 species!

So how does a lucky portion of the population manage to avoid acne? The answer can be found in a lack of the other two factors: sebum and toxins. It is only when bacteria (and toxins) are provided with a sebum-rich environment that they begin multiplying and inflaming surrounding tissue. People with clear skin tend to have more moderate oil levels (and a more toxic-free system).

The best bacteria-fighting regimen can be derived from a blend of over-the-counter ingredients and natural topicals. In my acne report, I reveal a regimen that works powerfully to kill off bacteria (without drying the skin). This formula is more effective than Proactiv Solution and other kits and can be assembled at a fraction of the price.
